A SALE.
Dame Liberty's breaking up house,
Rent and taxes unable to pay;
The fixtures and goods to be sold,
and the premises clear'd in a day.
She long for a housewife was known,
Kept the furniture tidy and sound,
But the servants so careless were grown,
There's scarce a whole thing to be found.
But right them and put them together,
They'll save the next comer expence;
At least they'll do some way or other;
So, neighbours, come lay out your pence.
